Car rental in Thailand can be a great way to explore the country, especially if you plan to visit remote areas or islands that are difficult to reach by public transport.

Local private businesses can offer better prices and payment methods, but you should be careful when choosing, and review the contract and other customers’ reviews carefully.
Standard rental usually includes maximum insurance, but with a deductible: the amount you must pay in case of an accident that is your fault (often equal to the security deposit). Check with the rental provider about the possibility of purchasing additional coverage.
Road traffic in Thailand is left-hand, which may require some getting used to. Drivers are less disciplined compared to Europe or North America, so it is important to be especially attentive. Roads often have motorcyclists, and there may be unexpected obstacles such as animals or pedestrians. In rural areas, roads can be of lower quality, with many potholes and no lane markings.

Vehicle inspection: Before signing the contract, be sure to inspect the vehicle for damage and note it. Also take photos and videos of the vehicle from all sides.
